Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down two cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s November 18 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.49 per gallon. Massachusetts’s price is 10 cents below the national average of $2.59. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 22 cents higher at $2.71 per gallon.

“An increase in gasoline supplies amid robust demand helped to push gas prices lower on the week,” said Mary Maguire, Director, Public and Legislative Affairs. “We expect this trend to continue throughout most of the month, with the exception of Thanksgiving. With nearly 49.3 million Americans expected to travel by car for the holiday, gas prices may start to fluctuate by the end of this week.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 79 cents, from a low of $2.26 to a high of $3.05. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
