Gasoline prices in Massachusetts remain the same this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s January 13 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.54 per gallon. Massachusetts’s price is 4 cents below the national average of $2.58. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 10 cents lower at $2.44 per gallon.

“A healthy and growing level of gasoline supply alongside decreasing demand are two factors helping to minimize gas price fluctuations,” said Mary Maguire, Director, Public and Legislative Affairs. “In the last week, 32 states saw pump prices push less expensive by just a penny or two or saw no change at all.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 76 cents, from a low of $2.29 to a high of $3.05. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
