Gasoline prices in Massachusetts remain the same again this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s May 11 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.90 per gallon. Massachusetts’s price is six cents above the national average of $1.84. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 94 cents higher at $2.84 per gallon.

“Pump prices are fluctuating throughout the country as demand increases and gasoline stocks decrease. The boost in demand continues to push pump prices up around the country, as more states re-open businesses. Motorists in the Great Lakes, Central, South and Southeast states are seeing the most volatility at the pump,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director, Public and Legislative Affairs.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 70 cents, from a low of $1.59 to a high of $2.29. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
