Gasoline prices in Massachusetts remain unchanged this week, according to AAA Northeast.
AAA Northeast’s June 15 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.01 per gallon. Massachusetts’s price is nine cents below the national average of $2.10. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 66 cents higher at $2.67 per gallon.
“As Americans drive more, they are boosting gasoline demand, and that increased demand is generally lifting pump prices,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director, Public and Legislative Affairs. “Higher demand will continue to push up gas prices in the coming weeks, but the numbers aren’t going to spike as high as they typically do in summer. That’s because demand won’t be sufficient enough to drive down stock levels, and we have a robust supply right now.”
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 60 cents, from a low of $1.79 to a high of $2.39. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:
