Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up two cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s June 22 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.03 per gallon. Massachusetts’s price is ten cents below the national average of $2.13. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 61 cents higher at $2.64 per gallon.

“Demand levels are likely to ebb and flow in the coming weeks as people continue to be cautious about travel,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director, Public and Legislative Affairs. “As a result, pump prices will likely continue to increase, but at a slower rate through the end of the month.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 60 cents, from a low of $1.79 to a high of $2.39. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
