Westwood, M.A., July 20, 2020 — Massachusetts’s average gas price is up one cent from last week ($2.12), averaging $2.13 per gallon. Today’s price is 7 cents cheaper than a month ago ($2.06) and 62 cents cheaper than July 20, 2019 ($2.75). Massachusetts’s average gas price is 6 cents lower than the national average.
“During the last month, demand has averaged about 8.6 million barrels per day nationally while gasoline supplies have steadily declined,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director of Public and Legislative Affairs. “Week by week, we are seeing mostly regional fluctuation at the pump based on gasoline supply and demand.”
AAA Northeast’s July 20 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be the same as last week, averaging $2.19 a gallon. Today’s national average price is 7 cents higher than a month ago ($2.12), and 58 cents cheaper than this day last year ($2.77).
