Westwood, M.A., October 19, 2020 — Massachusetts’s average gas price is down one cent from last week ($2.11), averaging $2.10 per gallon. Today’s price is the 2 cents lower than a month ago ($2.12), and 46 cents cheaper than October 19, 2019 ($2.56). Massachusetts’s average gas price is 6 cents lower than the national average.
“Today’s national average is two cents less than a week and month ago and 49 cents cheaper than last year,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director of Public and Legislative Affairs. “Decreases in U.S. gasoline demand, supply and imports pushed the national and 44 state gas price averages cheaper on the week.”
AAA Northeast’s October 19 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be 2 cents lower than last week ($2.18), averaging $2.16 a gallon. Today’s national average price is 2 cents lower than a month ago ($2.18), and 49 cents cheaper than this day last year ($2.65).
