AAA Northeast invites members of area communities to drop off nonperishable heart healthy food items at the AAA Utica or Oneonta Branch offices to help replenish food supplies at Mother Marianne’s West Side Kitchen, Utica and Otsego County Family Services, Oneonta.
AAA’s 4th Annual Summer Food Drive runs through July 30. There are drop-off bins in the AAA branch offices located at 430 Court Street, Utica and 762 NY-28 Suite 1, Oneonta. The offices are open Mondays – Fridays from 9 am – 5 pm.
AAA Northeast and the American Heart Association are working together to bring more heart-healthy options to local food pantries and soup kitchens. We encourage a range of nutritious donations like peanut butter, low-sodium canned meats, soups, canned vegetables, beans, whole-grain pasta, and brown rice. The tradition started four years ago to raise awareness that food insecurity is a year-round issue. Over the last two year, the economic fall out of the pandemic has created more widespread food insecurity.
“With your help, we know this year’s summer food drive will make a difference,” said Patti Artessa, Regional Director, Public and Government Affairs.
