Connecticut gas prices ticked up again to $3.49 for a gallon of self-service regular, up 6 cents from last week but the same price as last month.
National gas prices trended slightly downward to $3.89, down 3 cents from last week but still 21 cents higher than last month.
“Markets are continuing to reckon with recently-announced production cuts from OPEC+ nations, and fears of a global recession helped minimize pump price increases last week,” said Alec Slatky, AAA Northeast Managing Director of Public and Government Affairs. “Weak demand for gasoline also could help keep gas prices down.”
According to the Energy Information Administration, gas demand decreased nationally from 9.47 million barrels/day to 8.28 million b/d.
