Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down one cent this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s March 2 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.43 per gallon. Massachusetts’s price is the same as the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 7 cents lower at $2.36 per gallon.

“Healthy stock levels and cheaper crude prices have alleviated pain at the pump,” said Mary Maguire, Director, Public and Legislative Affairs. “However, maintenance season and the upcoming switchover to summer blends could break the downward trend in coming weeks. At the same time, we are also watching the impact of the coronavirus and what that could do to demand.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 96 cents, from a low of $2.09 to a high of $3.05. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
