“Summer may be fading into the rearview mirror, but less expensive gas prices are not,” said Robert Sinclair, Manager of Media Relations for AAA Northeast. “Moving into fall we traditionally see a drop in demand and further savings at the pump. This year that means pump prices could possibly push even lower than we’ve already seen in 2020.”
The average gas price dropped by a penny from last week in Connecticut and Pennsylvania to $2.22 and $2.51, respectively ($2.23, $2.52). The average gas price held steady at $2.29 for New York drivers. California has the highest average for a gallon of gas, at $3.24/gallon, while Mississippi has the cheapest at $1.88/gallon.
