Providence, R.I., November 2, 2020 — Rhode Island’s average gas price is two cents lower than last week ($2.11), averaging $2.09 per gallon. Today’s price is 4 cents lower than a month ago ($2.13) and 41 cents cheaper than November 2, 2019 ($2.50). Rhode Island’s average gas price is 3 cents lower than the national average.
“The national gas price average at the start of November has not been this cheap since 2004. If crude oil continues to push cheaper, we could see the national average drop below $2 per gallon before the end of the year,” said Lloyd Albert, AAA Northeast Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs.
AAA Northeast’s November 2 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be 4 cents lower than last week ($2.16), averaging $2.12 a gallon. Today’s national average price is 7 cents lower than a month ago ($2.19), and 49 cents cheaper than this day last year ($2.61).
