Wayne, N.J., November 2, 2020 — New Jersey’s average gas price dropped two cents this week to $2.20 ($2.22). Today’s price is one cent cheaper than a month ago ($2.21) and 38 cents cheaper than November 2, 2019 ($2.58). New Jersey’s average gas price is eight cents higher than the national average.
AAA Northeast’s November 2nd survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be $2.12, four cents cheaper than last week ($2.16). Today’s national average price is seven cents cheaper than a month ago ($2.19), and 49 cents cheaper than this day last year ($2.61).
“The national gas price average at the start of November has not been this cheap since 2004. If crude oil continues to push cheaper, we could see the national average drop below $2 per gallon before the end of the year,” said Robert Sinclair, Jr., Senior Manager of Public Affairs for AAA Northeast.
The average gas price in Connecticut and New York dropped two cents from last week to $2.14 and $2.22, respectively ($2.16, $2.24). Motorists in Pennsylvania are seeing an average price of $2.45, one cent cheaper than last week ($2.46). Hawaii has the highest average for a gallon of gas, at $3.24/gallon, while Missouri has the lowest at $1.7982/gallon.
