AAA Northeast is aiming to keep health care employees healthy and safe on the roads by delivering boxes of nutritious snacks and free AAA memberships to hospitals across Massachusetts on National Random Acts of Kindness Day – Wednesday, February 17. Club employees will caravan with AAA emergency vehicles displaying a “Thank You to Our Healthcare Workers” message to deliver the gift boxes to Whittier Street Health Center in Roxbury, Codman Square Health Center in Dorchester, South Shore Health in South Weymouth and Falmouth Pediatrics in Falmouth.
The “act of kindness” effort is designed to provide health care workers easy access to healthy foods during long shifts caring for COVID-19 patients and others. “Our local healthcare workers have been coping with the pandemic for nearly a year. AAA wants to support these heroes, whether that means giving them a snack or a free AAA membership so they can recharge their own batteries or their vehicle’s battery,” says Mary Maguire, Director of Government and Public Affairs at AAA Northeast.
Club employees will begin deliveries on Wednesday morning and media are welcome. Photo opportunities are available throughout the morning at each of the delivery sites. For specific delivery times on Wednesday, contact Mary Maguire at 401-865-9414 or Mark Schieldrop, Public Affairs Specialist for AAA Northeast, at 401-515-3660 for updated times during the day.
