Now that the State of Connecticut has relaxed its restaurant restrictions, residents who love fine dining will find New Haven County is home to a sparkling “Diamond” property in the state’s ring of outstanding world – class facilities recognized by AAA.
Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton earned a Four Diamond Award for the 4th consecutive year.
The hotel is one of several properties and restaurants in AAA Northeast’s territory of New Haven, Fairfield, and Litchfield Counties to have earned the award.
Other Four Diamond properties and restaurants in AAA Northeast territory include: Delamar Greenwich Harbor that has won for 3 consecutive years; The Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection, Washington, 6 years; The Hyatt Regency Greenwich, 9 years; Delamar Southport, 10 years; Rebeccas Restaurant, Greenwich, 11 years; and The Homestead Inn and Thomas Henkelmann restaurant, both in Greenwich, both 17 years.
Winvian of Morris in Connecticut’s idyllic northwest corner is the state’s only Five Diamond recipient, earning two awards for the 11th consecutive year: one for its restaurant and another for its unusual 113-acre property featuring 19 cottages of various themes.
Attaining a AAA Four or Five Diamond rating signifies meticulous attention to detail, creativity, outstanding service, and memorable guest experiences, says Fran Mayko, AAA Northeast’s spokeswoman. “These restaurants and properties are truly the best of the best and we’re quite fortunate to have these ‘Diamonds’ right here in our own ‘backyard.’”
Just .3% of the 53,000 AAA-inspected and approved restaurants and properties nationally receive a Five Diamond designation and only 4.4% receive Four Diamonds, says Mayko.
