Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down four cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s February 10 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.47 per gallon. Massachusetts’s price is 4 cents above the national average of $2.43. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 13 cents lower at $2.34 per gallon.

“Crude oil prices are at their cheapest point in a year,” said Mary Maguire, Director, Public and Legislative Affairs. “That, plus steady gasoline supply levels and low demand have helped to push local average prices lower – six cents cheaper than three weeks ago.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 88 cents, from a low of $2.17 to a high of $3.05. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
