Of those Americans interested in buying an electric vehicle, 25% have said they’d purchase a used EV, a 2022 AAA survey reports. So, to help consumers make informed decisions about electric vehicle purchases, AAA has published a Used EV Buyer’s Guide.
The guide features information on ownership costs, affordable options, driving ranges, and charging choices.
Available at www.aaa.com/usedevbuyersguide, the guide also compares ownership costs among various electric vehicles, provides additional information on repair and maintenance costs, and identifies various AAA car-buying resources.
Because electric vehicles are gaining popularity, AAA is providing consumers with the information they need to make informed purchases, said Greg Bannon, AAA’s Automotive Research Director. “A used EV could be a viable option for many first-time buyers or multi-car households since they tend to be more affordable than new EVs,” he added.
AAA conducts ongoing research on EVs, including consumer sentiment surveys, exploring factors that impact EV ranges, and the true cost of EV ownership. To see the full research, visit AAA Newsroom.
